Sodium Hexameta Phosphate (SHMP)

Sodium Hexameta Phospate Powder is a mixture of polymeric meta-phosphates which is a hexamer of composition Na6P6O18 having a molecular formula of 611.7704 grams per mol. It appears an odourless white crystal with a density of 2.484 grams per cubic centimetres. It is commonly used as a sequestrant which is a food additive used to improve the quality and stability of foods. The compound has good solubility in water but do not mix with organic solvents.
